Ava DuVernay is a representation of art activism. She is a writer, producer, director, and activist. She is known for her films Selma and 13th which portrayed the prevalence of racial injustice in the U.S.
Representation of Black and brown people is important for film. Black girls need to grow up seeing other Black people in commercials, music videos, film, and television shows.
